Joint pain is one of the most common reasons people visit an Ayurvedic clinic. Ayurveda does not look at the painful joint alone; it looks at digestion (Agni), the balance of Vata and the daily habits that feed the problem.
Food habits that help
- Prefer warm, freshly cooked, easily digestible meals.
- Use ginger, garlic, turmeric, cumin and ajwain in everyday cooking in normal food amounts.
- Limit cold drinks, ice cream, stale and heavily fried foods.
- Eat at fixed times and avoid overeating.
Lifestyle habits that help
- Keep moving. Gentle walking and joint-friendly yoga prevent stiffness.
- Protect your joints from cold and damp.
- Maintain a healthy weight to reduce the load on knees and hips.
- Sleep on time and manage stress, as both affect pain.
When to see a doctor
If pain is severe, comes with swelling, redness, fever, morning stiffness lasting more than half an hour, or limits your daily activity, do not delay a proper consultation. Early care protects the joints.
