Dinacharya means daily routine. Ayurveda teaches that health is built by small habits repeated every day, not by occasional big efforts.
Morning
- Wake up early, ideally before sunrise.
- Drink a glass of warm water and clear your bowels at a fixed time.
- Brush, clean the tongue and rinse the mouth.
- Move your body with walking, yoga or stretching, and finish with a few minutes of pranayama.
Midday
- Make lunch your biggest meal, since digestion is strongest at midday.
- Eat freshly cooked, warm food in a calm place, without screens.
- Take a short walk after eating.
Evening and night
- Keep dinner light and early, at least two to three hours before sleep.
- Reduce screen time an hour before bed.
- Sleep at a fixed time, ideally by 10 to 10:30 pm.
Start with just two changes, such as a fixed wake-up time and an early light dinner, and add more once they feel natural. If you have a health condition, ask your doctor to adapt the routine for you.
